What are the features of amaysim's data-only plans?

amaysim's data-only plans are great value Prepaid plans that are free from lock-in contracts. Simply choose your data allowance (7GB, 50GBor 90GB) and you're ready to go.

How can I get a data-only plan?

If you're looking to join amaysim, the easiest way is to order your amaysim SIM card online. There’s no charge for the SIM and you’ll simply pay for your chosen data-only plan upfront.

You also have the option to purchase a SIM card for $2 from our range of retail stores that includes Coles, Woolworths, Australia Post, 7-Eleven and more. Once you’ve purchased your SIM, head to the activation page, enter your SIM number and select your chosen data plan to begin the signup process.

What happens if my data runs out?

We'll send you data usage alerts via email and text message to let you know when you've used 50%, 85% and 100% of your data allowance.

It can take up to 48 hours for these messages to send, so we recommend keeping an eye on your balance using My amaysim, the amaysim app for Apple and Android devices or by simply texting BAL to 568.

Are you Prepaid

If you run out of the included data of your plan, we'll pause your data access and wait for your next steps. If you want to continue using data, you can choose to add a data top-up ($10/1GB) via the amaysim app. Data top-ups you choose to add, will be added to your plan’s pool of data and expire at the same time as your plan.

Alternatively, you can wait until your plan has renewed for a new 28 day period in order to access data again.

Are you Postpaid

To give you continuous data access, we'll automatically add a $10/1GB data top-up to your plan if you run out of your plans included data. Data top-ups will be added to your plan’s pool of data, expire at the same time as your plan, and be charged as part of your next monthly bill.

If you use up any 1GB data top-ups before your plan renews, we'll simply add another one so you can avoid any nasty bill blowouts.

Renewing & Recharging

By default amaysim's data-only plans will look to automatically renew (recharge) every 28 days.

For Prepaid customers, this can remain a seamless process if you link a payment method to your account, as this allows data-only plan to automatically recharge at the end of your 28 day plan period.

If you're Postpaid, your plan will also look to automatically renew by default and you'll find the renewal charge for your data-only plan when you receive your monthly invoice.

If you do not want your plan to renew automatically, you can switch auto-renew off at any point.

Early Plan Renew

You can renew your plan at any point during an existing renewal period. This can be a handy option if you’re running low on data and want to restart your data allowance.

Recharging using vouchers (Prepaid only)

Recharging your data-only plan using vouchers is not generally recommended and the hassle-free way to recharge your service is to link a payment method to your account so your plan can recharge automatically.

If you want to add a data-only plan using a voucher, you'll need to buy an voucher that's of the same value as the Data Plan you want.

I bought a data-only plan. Why do I see AS YOU GO on my account?

All data-only plans technically begin on AS YOU GO and this serves as a base plan for your service. This will not impact your plan and allows you to switch between our range of mobile and other data-only plans with ease.

If your plan has expired, you’ll be switched to AS YOU GO until you re-add your former plan. If you require assistance re-adding your plan, here's a step by step guide on how this can be done.
