What features do UNLIMITED plans include?

UNLIMITED plans are great value Prepaid plans that are free from lock-in contracts . Simply choose your data allowance (UNLIMITED 2GB, UNLIMITED 4GB, UNLIMITED 8GB, UNLIMITED 50GB, UNLIMITED 65GB or UNLIMITED 80GB) and you're ready to go.

The exception to this are our UNLIMITED 2GB and UNLIMITED 8GB plans which do not include international talk and text and will be charged at our low cost international rates for any international usage.

Powered by the Optus Mobile Network, which covers 98.5% of the Aussie population. If you’re in an area that doesn’t support Optus 4G Plus coverage or you don’t have a 4G compatible device, your service will simply drop back to the 3G signal.

The UNLIMITED 125GB and UNLIMITED 120GB are long expiry mobile plans that last 6 months and 1 year. These data heavy plans are perfect for people who don’t like the hassle of paying a monthly bill and can manage their data allowance over a longer time span.

How can I get an UNLIMITED plan?

If you're looking to join amaysim, the easiest way is to order your SIM online. There’s no charge for the SIM and you’ll simply pay for your chosen UNLIMITED plan upfront.

You also have the option to purchase an amaysim SIM for $2 from our range of retail stores that includes Coles, Woolworths, Australia Post, 7-Eleven and more. Once you’ve purchased your SIM, head to the activation page, enter your 13-digit SIM number and select your chosen UNLIMITED plan to begin the signup process.

You can also purchase a $10, $30, $40 or $50 Starter Pack SIM from these same stores. When you go to activate the SIM, you'll be able to select your chosen UNLIMITED plan at the corresponding price point

Easy! You can switch to an UNLIMITED plan at any point.

How does Data Banking work?

Data Banking, otherwise known as data rollover, saves all the unused data from your previous renewal period, storing it in a ‘data bank’ ready for you to use whenever you run low on data.

For example, if your plan gives you 30GB of data each renewal, and you only use 10GB – when you next renew, the unused 20GB gets automatically saved in your data bank for later use.

Unlike other telcos who cap their data banks, your amaysim data bank has no limits on the amount of data it can store and no expiry period either, as long as you remain on your current plan.

This way, you’ll always be covered when you need a little bit extra to keep you swiping, scrolling and streaming

When will I use my banked data?

You'll use your usual plan data first, this includes any bonus data or data top-ups that have been added to your account.

If you happen to use up your data balance before your plan renews, you'll begin using the stored data in your data bank to keep you going until your plan has renewed.

From time to time, network behaviour may mean that data is used in a different order however your total data inclusions will remain unchanged.

How can I check my balance?

You can check your data balance (including your specific data bank balance) via the home screen of the amaysim app.

What happens if I change plans?

If you decide to switch plans, your existing data bank balance will not be carried across to your new plan.

What happens if my data runs out?

We'll send you data usage alerts via email and text message to let you know when you've used 50%, 85% and 100% of your combined data allowance.

It can take up to 48 hours for these messages to send, so we recommend keeping an eye on your balance using the amaysim app or by simply texting BAL to 568.

If you're a Prepaid Customer

If you run out of the included data of your plan and do not have any stored data in your data bank, we'll pause your data access. If you want to continue using data, you can choose to add a data top-up ($10/1GB) via the amaysim app. Data top-ups you choose to add, will be added to your plan’s pool of data and expire at the same time as your UNLIMITED plan.

You can also choose to renew your plan early (this will re-start your data allowance).

Alternatively, you can simply wait until your plan has renewed for a new 28 day period in order to access data again.

If you're a Postpaid Customer

To give you continuous data access, if you do not have any data stored in your data bank and run out of your plan's included data, we'll automatically add a $10/1GB to your account. Data top-ups will be added to your plan’s pool of data, expire at the same time as your plan, and be charged as part of your next monthly bill.

If you use up any 1GB data top-ups before your plan renews, we'll simply add another one so you can avoid any nasty bill blowouts.

Renewing & Recharging

By default your UNLIMITED plan will look to automatically renew (recharge) every 28 days.

For Prepaid customers, this can remain a seamless process if you link a payment method to your account, as this allows your UNLIMITED plan to automatically recharge at the end of your 28 day plan period.

If you're Postpaid, your plan will also look to automatically renew by default and you'll find the renewal charge for your UNLIMITED plan when you receive your monthly invoice.

If you do not want your plan to renew automatically, you can switch auto-renew off at any point.

Early Plan Renew

You can renew your mobile plan at any point during an existing renewal period. This can be a handy option if you’re running low on data and want to restart your data allowance.

Recharging using vouchers (Prepaid only)

amaysim recharge vouchers are available in thousands of stores around Australia including Coles, Woolworths, Australia Post, 7-Eleven and more.

If you're recharging using vouchers, remember to purchase a voucher that's the same value as the plan you're trying to recharge.

E.G - If you're looking to recharge UNLIMITED 45GB, you'll need to purchase a $40 voucher and follow the steps to convert the credit to your chosen plan.

How can I use additional services?

To use additional services such as Premium SMS, International Roaming or to make an international call or SMS to a country that's not included in your UNLIMITED plan:

  • For Prepaid customers, you'll need to make sure you have additional credit in your account to cover the cost of these services.
  • For Postpaid customers, you'll be able to use these services and will find any additional charges on your next monthly bill.
