How to convert SIM to eSIM
Converting from a physical SIM to eSIM is straightforward, quick and gives you benefits both in Australia and when travelling overseas.
Provided you have an eSIM compatible phone, you can convert your SIM to an eSIM in one of two ways:
1. On your phone
iPhones:
Make sure you’ve updated to the latest iOS operating system
Go into Settings > Mobile Service > Convert to eSIM or Add eSIM
Follow the prompts to finish converting from SIM to eSIM
Android:
Go into Settings > Network & Internet > SIMs
Select your physical SIM
Select Convert to eSIM
Follow the prompts to finish converting from SIM to eSIM
2. Via amaysim's app
Amaysim’s app makes the conversion from SIM to eSIM within 4hrs.
It’s recommended to:
Make sure you’re on a strong, private WiFi connection (it’s not recommended to convert while using hotspot)
Do not let your device go to sleep
On either an iPhone or Android, complete these 8 simple steps:
Step 1: Download and open the amaysim app
Step 2: Swipe up to show your plan details
Step 3: Select ‘Replace SIM’
Step 4: Select ‘I want a replacement eSIM’ then ‘Continue’
Step 5: Once we confirm your device is compatible, click on ‘Confirm replacement’
Step 6: Confirm your number and hit ‘Yes, let’s go’
Step 7: Confirm Multi-Factor Authorisation (MFA) requirements
Step 8: Press ‘OK’
You can use your old SIM until you get confirmation of your eSIM activation, usually in 1-3 hours.

What happens next?
You’ll receive confirmation that your eSIM conversion is complete, then your physical SIM will deactivate.
Is my phone eligible to convert to eSIM?
