Which plan suits you?
- Everyday use. The 42GB 28-day mobile SIM plan covers study apps, social and everyday use, and renews every 28 days so you can move up or down as your usage changes.
- Covering the whole academic year. The 200GB 365 day mobile SIM plan is $270 paid upfront for 12 months of service, which works out to $22.50 a month, with no 28-day renewals to keep track of during exams.
This is only intended to be used as a general guide; the plan that best suits you will be based on your individual usage and requirements. Autorecharge is enabled by default when you purchase an amaysim plan, so keep a valid payment method linked to renew on time.
Why these plans work for students
- Budget certainty. Prepaid means you pay for each renewal period upfront, so you know what you're spending for each renewal period.
- No lock-in contract. Change or cancel your plan at any time, including between semesters.

Is there a student discount?
No. amaysim doesn't run a student-only discount. The value comes from the plans themselves: prepaid pricing includes data banking, with no lock-in contract and no credit check on selected plans, and promotional pricing shown on the plan cards is available to eligible new customers, students included.
Which mobile plans suit students?
For most students a 28-day mobile SIM plan is the simplest fit, because you can change your data allowance as your usage changes. If you'd rather pay once and not think about renewals during the semester, a long expiry mobile SIM plan covers six or twelve months in one payment.
Can I get a plan as an international student?
Yes. Selected 28-day and long expiry mobile SIM plans include international standard calls and texts to selected countries, so you can call home from Australia. You'll need a compatible unlocked phone, and you can start with an eSIM on a compatible device.
What happens to my data over the holidays?
If you stay on the same plan, included data you don't use in a renewal period rolls over when the plan renews, so a quiet break banks data for the next semester. If you'd rather not pay over the holidays, you can change or cancel your plan at any time, although banked data may not carry across a plan change.
Can I keep my current number?
Yes. You can transfer your current mobile number to amaysim when you set up your plan. You don't need to cancel with your current provider first.
