We’ve been nailed with some pretty miserable weather lately so I’ve pulled together a list of apps to help us all get through this woeful weather – think of it as a winter survival kit straight from your phone.

Winter is a time for comfort food, so sit back, crank up your heater and Menulog the comfort meal that you know will hit the spot. With Menulog you can order food from over 5500 restaurants across Australia. From Chinese to pizza and some great burgers, there’s something to suit everyone.

You can download Menulog on Apple, Android and Windows devices for free.

Yahoo! Weather – if you dare venture outside

If you’re someone who likes knowing exactly what they’re signing up for when they step outside the Yahoo! Weather app might be the one for you. Apart from offering a 10 day (and hourly) forecast, you’ll also get the important ‘feels like’ metric – you know, for those days when the weather guy says it’s 15 degrees but it feels waaay colder.

Yahoo! Weather is free and available for both Apple and Android devices. – get ahead of your summer reading list

This cold weather is perfect for snuggling up with a good book, so if you’re feeling peckish for a new read but don’t know where to start, check out – it’s a website that gives you suggestions for your next read based on your preferences. The catalogue is pretty extensive so give it a shot if you’re keen to get a head start on your summer reading.

Keen to check out any of my suggestions for winter? Have I missed any apps that you can’t live without? Let me know in the comments below and I’ll check them out.
