Samsung has really stepped up their game over the past couple of years. With a slew of new features and some ground-breaking tech, they’re slowly winning the masses over one device at a time.

I’m sure I’m not the only one that’s been low-key crushing on Samsung. Since the S6 Galaxy S6 Samsung are back to form, they are really crushing it, and with Apple and Samsung pushing each other ahead we know we can expect some really great devices to come in the future. Here are five reasons why I think Samsung’s are pretty exciting.

The camera

Their cameras are on point. If you love taking photos you’ll love the Samsung range, especially the newest Samsung Galaxy S7. The pixels in this camera are larger, making it better in low light, and the dual picture autofocus helps to capture sharp images even when the subject is moving – perfect for sports and adventure photography. From the S6 and beyond, Samsung smartphones also come with an extra wide selfie camera so you can take great pictures of you and your whole squad #squadgoals.

Always-on display

Samsung has developed an always-on display, introduced as a new feature with their latest phone. An always-on display means that your phone will remain dimly lit and show you important information like the time or unread messages without you having to “wake up” your phone every single time. This fancy display technology uses less than a percent of battery per hour, and with stats saying the average user checks their phone as much as 150 times a day, this can really save you time if you’re a frequent checker.

The S Pen

The Samsung Note has the S Pen. You might think the S Pen makes you look a little dorky but trust me, it’s really handy.

Firstly, the S Pen lets you use scroll capture which means you can screen grab the whole page, not just what you can see on your screen. With scroll capture, you can capture up to 22 pages and then look at them anytime, even when you're not online.

You can also jot down notes with the S Pen just like you would on a notepad – just scribble down your note on the dark screen and it will be saved for later, easy!;

Lastly, it’s an organiser’s dream. With Scrapbook and the S Pen combined, you can circle anything interesting you find online like an image, video, web page or text and it will be sent straight to your digital scrapbook for you to check out later.;

The curves

Samsung has some great curves. It might sound superficial but Samsung are making some really good looking smartphones and they feel pretty wonderful to hold as well. The curved shape of makes the phone feel more comfortable and secure in your hand. Plus, it makes the experience of watching videos on your phone better because it creates the illusion of a wider screen - YouTube vortex anyone?

Choice

With Android at its heart, you're not restricted to using only Samsung devices with your Samsung phone. For example, just because you have a Samsung Galaxy doesn’t mean yo have to buy a Samsung smart watch. Say you love the look of the new Moto 360 watch and the feel of the Google Pixel C tablet – not a problem, they’ll all work seamlessly together and when you purchase an app on one it will be available across all your Android devices. This also means if you decide to leave camp Samsung and buy another Android phone, all your app purchases will come with you.

What are your thoughts? Are you a Samsung convert, or has another smartphone stolen your heart? Comment below and let me know what you love (or hate) about Samsung.
