When you sign up online to amaysim, you'll be asked if you want to keep you existing mobile number. No lengthy paperwork and no hassles!

To ensure your transfer can be completed as quickly as possible, before you initiate the transfer, we'll need to know things about your current mobile account like:

  • your payment type (postpaid)
  • account number (usually on your bill) or
  • the account-holder's date of birth

Once you're ready to transfer login to start transfer online.

Transfers from Telstra or Vodafone can take up to 1 business day, while transfers from the Optus network can take up to 3 business days.

Tip: You can start the transfer at any time, however transfers are processed between 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am - 6pm on Saturday.

After the initial sign up process is complete and you've received your SIM, you'll be able to log in to your account to initiate the transfer.

During the transfer you can continue to use your current provider's SIM. Once the transfer is complete, your number will be automatically cancelled with your previous provider.

Once it stops working, your amaysim SIM is in the process of being activated and means you can insert the amaysim SIM into your device.

There may be a short period of service interruption, but your service should become active by 8pm at the latest on that day.
