There are plenty of inspirational women out there - Hilary Clinton, Emma Watson, Ita Buttrose and Sophia Amoruso aka #GIRLBOSS, just to name a few.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we wanted to shine the spotlight on some of our own women in leadership. Without further ado, I’d like you to meet five inspirational amaysim women:

Leanne Wolski

Leanne Wolski - Chief Financial Officer

Leanne joined the team as Financial Controller when amaysim was just a fledgling start-up in 2010, and is one of the reasons the company has gone from strength to strength. As the person who controls amaysim’s purse string, she’s integral to the success of our business. But Leanne is so much more than your average bean counter - she’s a leader in its truest form.

Sandra Kuras

Sandra Kuras - Product Owner

Sandra joined the team as a customer service representative when the company launched in 2010 and today is a Product Owner who leads a team of six staff. The success of amaysim is a credit to staff like Sandra who have grown with the business from start-up into the thriving five-year-old business it is today. ‘Watch out Julian,’ I’ve heard staff saying “she’ll be running this place one day” and I for one can see it happening.

Lian Ma

Lian Ma - Software Engineer

Lian started at amaysim as a front-end developer but has rapidly progressed to a full-stack engineer and is tipped as a future Technical Lead. She’s primarily focused on delivering Web & Mobile Apps which is extremely valuable for a tech company like amaysim.

Norzim Lawrence

Norzim Lawrence - Quality Assurance & Resolutions Manager

Norzim has been part of amaysim’s customer service centre management team since day one. She’sinstrumental in our TIO complaint rating being as low as it is. In case you’re wondering it’s 0.7 complaints per 10,000 customers – a feat unheard of in the telco industry.

Jennifer Snell

Jennifer Snell - Senior Digital Marketing & CRM Manager (Vaya)

Jen is another amaysim veteran who has grown with the business – she joined the team in 2012 as Digital Marketing Executive, was promoted to Digital Manager and most recently has been promoted to Senior Digital Marketing and CRM Manager at Vaya (amaysim’s sister telco). This superstar knows digital inside out - given so much of what amaysim does is online, her knowledge and enthusiasm is invaluable.

These five women will tomorrow join some of amaysim’s other female leaders on a panel for amaysim staff which I know is going to be inspiring.

amaysim’s built a name for itself as a tech-disrupter – we like to zig when the industry zags – and we’re committed to bringing gender equality to the telco space.

Celebrating nine amazing years!

We’re growing up, but we’re definitely not growing old.

Our ninth year has been filled with awesome achievements, and we couldn’t have done it without your amazing support!

It felt just like yesterday when we embarked on an ambitious journey to shake up the dinosaurs of the Australian telco industry, with our BYO mobile phone proposition and SIM-only plans.

Fast forward nine years and with over one million customers catching onto the amaysim wave, it’s crazy to think that the best is still yet to come.

Whether you’ve been with us since day dot (back when the iPhone 4 was the hottest phone in the market), or have recently joined the amaysim family, we can’t thank our loyal customers enough for their support over the years, as we clearly wouldn’t be here without you.

Between expanding our product offerings and enhancing the experience for our customers (be sure to check out the refreshed amaysim app), it's been an exciting year at amaysim HQ.

Not to mention we recently upped the data across our mobile plans, ensuring we keep our promise in offering Aussies greater choice when it comes to finding a great-value mobile plan that’s simple to use and won’t break the bank.

revitalised network agreement

As you all know, amaysim runs on the Optus 4G network, and mobile data is the fuel that allows our connected lives to exist. Data usage is only set to increase as we move into the future which is something we want to ensure is encapsulated in the type of mobile plans we offer.

amaysim and Optus have had a mutually beneficial partnership since we launched back in 2010 and in May we signed a revitalised network supply agreement (NSA) with Optus.

The updated agreement enables us to offer even greater products and services to our mobile customers, so keep your eyes peeled as we continue to expand our mobile plan offerings to meet our customers’ evolving needs.

Canstar Blue Awards

we love customer recognition

There’s always been a focus at amaysim HQ of doing right by our customers, knowing good things will come and although awards aren’t everything, from time-to-time it’s nice to be acknowledged!

To cap off a great year, we struck gold at the 2019 Canstar Blue Awards, taking home the gong for the most satisfied customers in the prepaid SIM-only category - shining a light on the amazing value our mobile plans continue to provide hundreds of thousands of Aussies.

What made this win even more special is the fact the Canstar Blue Awards are based on direct feedback given to an independent research firm by customers.

On that note, a massive shout out to our customers who continually give us a vote of confidence through loyalty and support – we appreciate each and every one of you.
