How to: Tether your handset
Hi, welcome to “How to tether your handset.”
So, what is tethering? Tethering is simply sharing your mobile phone's internet connection with other devices like your laptop.
It's usually done using a USB chord or wirelessly via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. It can also be referred to as a "personal hotspot". Importantly, tethering is not supported by all handsets so check your mobile user guide.
If you're an android user, there is an entry in your 'Wireless and networks' settings where you can enable tethering.
If you've got an iPhone you can turn on your 'Personal Hotspot' in the phone's settings.
Both mobile operating systems provide tethering via Wi-Fi. Once you've connected your computer to your mobiles Wi-Fi you should be able to use its internet connection and connect to the net.
Unfortunately I can't show you how to tether every single handset as there's just too many. Just check your User Guide or Google tethering, followed by your handset model.
Always remember, tethering uses your mobile data. So if you're not on amaysim unlimited, which comes with 4 gigabytes of data, we strongly suggest you add an amaysim data pack.
