Understanding international dialling codes can be quite tricky. You need the country code, the area code. It also helps to have a plan with unlimited international calls. Even knowing when to remove a zero or add a + sign to the number can be a damn-right headache!

Thankfully, we’ve rounded up everything you’ll need to know about calling India from Australia. So read on and get typing, the world is only a phone call away!

  1. Enter the + on your dial pad.* This is usually done by holding down the 0 key
  2. Enter the India country code (91)

  4. Enter the India local number

* Your phone automatically converts the "+" into the correct international exit code (depending on what country the phone is being used). This is a great feature if you’re travelling abroad, using international roaming and calling your contacts while abroad.
