This means once your service is active, simply follow the instructions in the setup guide you'll receive alongside your modem in order to connect your home to the internet.

Before you begin setting up your modem, please make sure you've got your activation email handy, as you'll need it to complete the setup.

Manually configure your modem

Although amaysim modems are sent out pre-configured, if you've reset your modem settings, you may need to manually configure your device and this can be done by following the below steps.

1. Plug in your modem

The first step is to plug your modem into the wall - once this has been done, connect your modem via an ethernet cable to the nbn™ connection box installed in your home.

This can be done by plugging the ethernet cable from your modems WAN port into the UNI-D1 port on your connection box (please refer to your activation email for the exact UNI-D port that need to be used) - once this is done, power your modem on and head to the next step.

2. Connect your modem 

To configure your modem, you'll need to use a browser while connected to your modem’s Wi-Fi network (you can do this even if the internet isn’t running). So, connect a device such as a laptop, tablet or even your smartphone to your modem's Wi-Fi network.

Your Wi-Fi password can be found on the Wi-Fi card that was included with your modem.

3. Login to your modem's web address

Open a web browser and type http://192.168.20.1 into the address bar and press enter.

Once you've opened the address, you'll be prompted to login using your modem's login credentials and these can be found in your modem device guide, or by checking the manufacturer’s website and will generally be similar to the below example;

  • username : admin
  • password : password

4. Check your activation email to configure your modem

Once logged in, the steps to enter your amaysim connection settings will vary depending on the modem you’re using and you’ll need to find the area where you can adjust the Connection Type for your modem; this this may come under Connection Type, WAN Type, Wan Settings, or Encapsulation.

Below are the settings you’ll then need to enter in order to set up your connection;
