What is the nbn™ network?
As Australia continues the transition towards a digital future, the need for a broadband network to match the growing demand for internet access must also evolve.
The National Broadband Network (nbn for short) is an upgrade to Australian’s existing broadband network that's being rolled out by the government owned nbn co and is designed specifically for the high speed transfer of internet traffic.
Over the coming months and years as the nbn continues to be rolled out, many parts of Australia’s existing telecommunications network will be switched off. To ensure your existing services are not impacted, you must switchto an authorised nbn service provider prior to the switch off date in your area.
This will also allow you to take advantage of the superfast speeds and reliability of the nbn™ so you can maximise the potential of your household's internet capabilities.
Is the nbn available in my area?
The nbn™ is already available at over 4 million households nationwide and with 20,000 new activations each week, the nbn is aiming to complete the national rollout and have 8 million homes connected by 2020.
amaysim can help identify when your home will be nbn-ready and let you know the network technology used to service your address, this way you can plan ahead and prepare for your home to connect.
If your home is already nbn-ready, take a quick look at our plans and pick your speed. You’ll then be able to complete the signup process online (no paperwork, no hassles).
