How can I change my energy plan?

Quick answer

If you’re using a subscription electricity plan, you can change plans under manage plan through the app and my amaysim.

If you’re planning to upgrade to a plan with more kWh, we’ll backdate the new allowance to the beginning of your cycle, and you’ll pay the difference between your current plan and your new plan.

If you’re moving to plan with less kWh, you’ll be charged for that plan and given the lower kWh allowance on your next renewal date.

Should I be changing plans?

When it comes to changing plans, there are a number of factors to consider; including seasonality, an expected change of usage (such as a holiday or having guests over for an extended period of time), as well as how many days are left during your renewal cycle.

We’ll continuously provide you with plan recommendations through the app and my amaysim. This will be based on your current usage and will naturally change if your usage changes.

In certain instances we may suggest simply adding a top-up to help you get through until the end of your renewal cycle, rather than changing your plan.

What if I’m not using a subscription plan?
