Why is the VDO being introduced?
The VDO replaces the former standing offer scheme and is part of the Victorians government’s Energy Fairness Planto make the electricity market simpler and more affordable for all consumers; something amaysim is extremely passionate about.
Do I qualify for the VDO?
The VDO will be available to all Victorian residential households and small businesses from 1 July, 2019.
If you live in an apartment block, retirement home, caravan park, or you’re a small business tenant in a shopping centre, you may be receiving your electricity through an embedded network. Embedded networks can’t access the Victorian Default Offer at this stage.
The Essential Services Commission will review the VDO price for customers in embedded networks in the near future.
You can check whether electricity at your address is supplied by an embedded network at the Essential services commission register.
Can I switch to the VDO?
Our goal is to always ensure you’re getting the most value out of your electricity plan.
If you’d like to discuss switching to the VDO, simply contact us, so we can let you know whether the VDO will help you save on your power bill, as you may benefit from being placed on one of our other competitive market offers.
