International Roaming is when you’re travelling in another country and your phone uses an overseas network to make/receive calls, send SMS or use data. In this day and age, it’s hard not to rely on our phones for getting around, keeping in touch, or even using our bank accounts, and International Roaming gives you the freedom to do that while travelling. Read this article to learn more.

International Roaming Packs can be purchased via the amaysim app. Some features of our International Roaming packs are:
- 365 days expiry: Use your pack as you need over a year, including across multiple trips.
- Stackable: Buy another pack and your unused inclusions will roll over to your new pack, under your new expiry period.
- No bill shock: You’ll know exactly how much you’re spending when prepaying for your pack.
Buying an International Roaming Pack is easy, all you have to do is add one to your plan in the amaysim app and you’re good to go.
amaysim app: Swipe up from the home screen for International Roaming Pack details or view a summary of charges under International Roaming charges.
Note: Charges may not be up-to-date due to delays in receiving usage information from International Roaming partners.
No, unfortunately our International Roaming Packs aren’t available on ships and planes.
All you need to do to activate International Roaming is add an International Roaming Pack to your plan by purchasing one through the amaysim app, and activate International Roaming in the settings of the amaysim app and your device.
- In the amaysim app, click on the settings cog in the top right hand corner.
navigate to ‘international roaming’, toggle on/off - To set up your device for roaming on iOS devices-
Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Mobile’ > Select applicable SIM > Data Roaming toggle on/off - To set up your device for roaming on Android devices-
Navigate to ‘Settings’ > ‘Connections’ >’Mobile Networks’

If you have performed these steps then, your International Roaming should be good to go.
Alternatively, if you’re able to use your International Roaming Pack inclusions, your International Roaming is activated.

No need, once you get back home, you’ll automatically go back to using your regular plan. However, if you want to stop using International Roaming while overseas, you can manually switch it off in the settings of your amaysim app or device.
Sure, as long as you’re within the 365 day expiry period, you have inclusions left and International Roaming is on, you’ll use your pack any time you travel in one of our Selected Destinations.

If you’re visiting a country that’s not one of our Selected Destinations, you can get a local SIM when you arrive in the destination or connect to Wi-Fi networks.

Nope, the expiry of your International Roaming Pack won’t affect your normal service. To check the expiry date of your normal plan, visit my amaysim or the amaysim app.
As long as your phone number is still active on the network, you’ll be able to use your International Roaming Pack until you’ve finished your inclusions or it expires
Yes, if you have an eSIM compatible device, you can use an eSIM to manage your amaysim International Roaming Pack and purchase a physical sim in your travel destination. The inclusions from your International Roaming Pack will be available in all Selected Destinations.
